Regular EventsSynagogue for the Arts offers various events throughout the year. They are open to the entire community, and all are welcome. Come and celebrate with us. Shabbat YogaWe try to provide creative complements to our traditional services. In addition to the women's tefillah, we have recently started Shabbat Yoga, a customized yoga and meditation program that incorporates Kabbalistic messages, Shabbat Prayer and the weekly Torah portion in an hour session in our social hall. It is a beautiful ritual, and a spiritual, refreshing and meaningful way to share Shabbat morning together as a family and as a community. It is lead by prominent New York City certified yoga instructors alternating on a monthly basis in leading the program. Shabbat Yoga is geared towards adults and older children. Younger children who can maintain focus are welcome. T'ai ChiCome and join us as we practice the ancient art of healing and balance. T'ai Chi is a low impact workout concentrating on alignment of movement and body. Lead by group leader and SFTA member, David Wander, this class is open to all of any level. Can you think of a better way to end your day and invigorate the middle of your week? $7 per class, every Wed. To confirm session, contact educator@synagogueforthearts.org. Scholars Lecture SeriesEach year the synagogue features top Jewish scholars on select occassions either in the context of a Shabbat / Yom Tov experience or separate weekday lectures. Spring BenefitOnce a year the Synagogue for the ars holds its Spring Benefit. This event, open to all, features entertainment, silent auction, gala dinner and more. In the past, we have featured a concert by the Ariel Winds Quintet and a poetry reading by Samuel Menashe. We have presented The Folksbiene Troupe, a group of actors, singers and musicians performing a musical revue of classic songs and sketches from the Yiddish Theatre and held an auction of fine arts.
